    Francis Parker School (Parker) is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1,330 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world.” Parker has two campuses: one in Mission Hills (Lower School, Junior Kindergarten - Grade 5), and a second in Linda Vista (Middle and Upper School, Grades 6 - 12).

    Job Description:

    This opening is Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday - Friday (7:45 am - 4:15 pm) for the 2025-2026 school year. The School is seeking an Associate Teacher with experience working in elementary classrooms.  Instructional responsibilities will involve contributing to and teaching lessons, working closely with a classroom teacher and grade level team to coordinate curriculum and instruction, and communicating closely and effectively within the school community. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, Associate Teachers provide supervision for carline, lunch duty and recess. 

    This position is a one-year assignment. Employees will have the opportunity to re-apply from year-to-year.

    Qualifications:

    Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, and a teaching credential is desirable. Prior experience working with K-5 children is essential. The successful applicant will be computer literate, possess excellent writing skills, take initiative, be willing to work as a collaborative team member, and have an abiding interest in helping young people experience success in school. Additionally, an understanding of Singapore Math and Foundations is also desirable.

    Salary and Benefits:

    This Full-Time Associate Teacher position is paid on an hourly basis, pay ranging from $23.40 - $31.20 per hour based on education and classroom teaching experience.
