    Windward School, a grade 7-12 college-preparatory, independent day school in vibrant West Los Angeles, is currently seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Business Office Associate to join our Business Office Department.

    This position will perform accounting and administrative duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of transactions, following the standards of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong accounting skills and possess a high level of professionalism. An understanding of, and a commitment to, a culturally and ethnically diverse population is essential.

    This position reports to the Directors of Finance.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
    • Accounts Receivable including: billing families, collecting tuition and fees, contacting parents as needed, recording and reconciling Blackbaud Tuition Management.
    • One Card monitoring, processing and reconciling for Pavilion and Events
    • Budget activity review and dissemination
    • School bus transportation liaison, communicate with outside bus company, meet with bus drivers; communicate with parents and school any changes to daily bus schedule.
    • Monthly financial close journal entry preparation, including but not limited to: expense accruals/reversals/allocations, depreciation expense, and revenue recognition
    • Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
    • External audit and tax preparation assistance
    • Record keeping:  hard and soft copies of cash receipt and disbursement documents maintained accurately and timely
    Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline preferred
    • 2+ years of hands-on accounting in an office environment
    • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
    • Exercises professional integrity, confidentiality, and judgment; maintains confidentiality of organizational information
    • Professional written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to multitask, prioritize duties, and meet deadlines
    • Self-directed, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, G-Suite, Blackbaud, and Google Docs
    • Ability  to interpret information and apply logic to solve problems and draw relevant conclusions
    • Strong team player skills: active listening, collaboration, open and productive dialogue
    • Able to complete or oversee the completion of assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner
    • Able to receive and understand direction from supervisor and School leadership
    • Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 5 pounds

    Salary Range:  $68-$80K
