Position Overview:
The Crossroads History Department offers a 9-12 global history program. The goal of our curriculum is to ignite student curiosity about our world, fostering their critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. We hope that all of our students become independent, self-motivated learners, leaving Crossroads with a diverse set of tools to grapple with the world’s challenges. Crossroads teachers develop rich lessons drawing on a wide variety of media, including primary and secondary sources. Students are asked to “engage with history” and interact with material in meaningful and critical ways. Students also participate in project-based learning and non-traditional assessment strategies throughout the program. Crossroads teachers balance independence and collaboration. Essential Job Functions:
- Invested and dedicated to teaching high school students.
- Adept independent planner, who also embraces teaching the Crossroads curriculum.
- Use a diverse set of teaching tools and practices. Our courses thrive on the quality of projects and non-traditional assessments.
- Be flexible and adaptable, able to work with and support a wide variety of students across high school grade levels.
- Be a committed lifelong learner, always eager to expand and extend your horizons.
- Continually renew and rejuvenate courses with new ideas and approaches.
- Be a critical and creative thinker, unafraid to change what and how you teach. See change and evolution as their path to success. Our community thrives when we adapt and grow.

Qualifications
- B.A., preferably an M.A., in history or a related field with a global focus.
- Extensive background teaching high school or college courses, excitement about collaborating with colleagues.
- Eager to engage with a diverse student population and fully embrace the student-centered philosophy of the School and the department.
