    Full time, Exempt, Start Date Immediately, End date mid-June 2026 with possibility to be extended


    OVERVIEW

    Reporting jointly to the Primary Principal, the Supervisor of Preschool Licensing and Daycare Programs works with a high level of independence to carry out the School’s preschool programming. He/She will coordinate all aspects of the preschool licensing program on Ashbury and Sausalito as required by the California Social Services Department. The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the school's program, which includes before- and after-school day care as well as camps operations for PreK: including coordinating employee schedules, and supervising the work of the daycare employees. Responsible for ensuring compliance, reporting, and maintaining accurate records for all enrollees and on staff attendance. Located in San Francisco, Lycée is a French Immersion, independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school of approximately 820 students in grades preK-12.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and maintain a unified program on 2 campuses

    • Ensure a positive disciplined approach to education at all times 

    • Ensure that the Lycée PreK program is thriving and remains attractive for new families by maintaining a positive atmosphere within the staff

    • Supervise and participate in the evaluation of a team of assistants 

    • Participate in the recruitment of his/her team

    • Maintain, at all times, high-quality child care standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.

    • Prepare and coordinate all necessary handbooks and training related to licensing.

    • Organizes the daycare and camps under Childcare licensing

    • Ability to provide sound advice related to Early Childhood laws, practices, and procedures to Principals,  the CFO & HOS

    • Collaborate with Athletics and after-school Director and Principals on camps and after-school program operations, scheduling, and program implementation.

    • Provide professional development guidance

      • Reviews compliance with staffing

      • Reviews pre-school and daycare procedures to be in compliance with all required Child care licensing

      • Review pre-school and daycare procedures to be in compliance with all required health and safety regulations

    • Maintains students' and employees' files in compliance with licensing regulations

    • Acts as a liaison between social services and the school

    • Prepares the annual licensing audit

    • Reports any licensing matters including audits and reports to the CFO & HOS

    • Oversee and coordinate daycare program and lunch period

    • Oversee evening daycare operations through 6:00 pm for PK0,  PK1 and PK2 students

    • Ensures Compliance 

      • Sets and implements accounting policies and procedures within California guidelines

      • Maintains and supervises maintenance of required records

      • Works with Human Resources on required compliances

    • Proposes Improvements 

      • Attends professional development seminars to maintain an understanding of the current best practices of curriculum and administrative functions of child development programs.

      • Analyzes present problems, identifies potential problems, and develop and evaluate possible solutions

      • Improves processes and automates manual tasks where possible. 

      • Implements strategies to make operations more efficient. Recommends systemic improvements that create efficiencies and  savings for the organization 

    • General

      • Serves as a member of the leadership team 

      • Supervises and provides leadership and guidance to the preschool and daycare staff 

    OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School Diploma or Baccalaureate or GED

    • 12 core semester Units early childhood education/development

    • 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations

    • 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center

    • First aid and CPR required

    • Experience in private schools or education preferred

    • Experience supervising teachers and daycare assistants

    • Discretion in handling confidential information

    • Moderate physical exertion such as carrying

    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of handling multicultural situations; communicate effectively with children

    • Strong leadership skills

    • Autonomous and able to drive projects independently 

    • Capacity to actively collaborate within a team with a positive mindset. 

    • Would prefer candidate to be multilingual—not a must

      • Knowledge of French language and French culture is an asset, but not required

      • English fluency is required

    Alternatives Qualification Paths

    • A degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 2 years teaching experience

    • BA degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 1 year teaching experience

    • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit


    Salary is commensurate with level of education and experience. Candidates with 3+ years related experience in the education field can anticipate an annual salary, ranging from: $90,000.00 to $105,000.00 per year.The salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience in the job, type and years of experience in the industry, education, etc. 

    Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, disability insurance, 11 paid holidays, and up to 5 weeks paid vacation accrual per year.
