    Interim Event Set-Up and Support Staff Position

    Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for an Interim Event Set-Up and Support Staff team member to begin as soon as possible.

    Summary of Position

    Event Set-Up and Support Staff personnel are important members of the Events team. Under the general supervision of the Events Scheduling and Logistics Manager and Assistant Head of School, the Interim Event Set-Up and Support Staff position will cover during a leave that extends at least through March 2026. Event Set-Up and Support Staff work with each event’s designated Events Manager to coordinate, set up, manage, and break down the school’s many meetings, activities, and events. Events team members work together to manage the inventory and maintenance of equipment and supplies for events. The Events team is committed to delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction and support to the Brentwood School Community. This is an interim, full-time hourly position, with a variable schedule that includes evening, weekend, and overtime hours.

    Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

           Work with each event’s designated Events Manager to produce events and meetings, from set-up through break down

           Execute set-up and break down for all in-house meetings, activities, and student events

           Use effective time management, team work, and organizational skills at all times

           Demonstrate professional behavior in all interactions, modeling stable, consistent, reliable, and courteous communications

           Proactively handle any emergent issues and troubleshoot problems arising on the event day

           Make recommendations about when additional support from facilities staff is needed and work with Events Manager to coordinate their activities during an event

           Maintain an organized storage, distribution, set-up, and breakdown system for all events equipment, including, but not limited to: tents, chairs, tables, staging, sound systems, flags, lecterns, risers, heaters, furnishings, and other events equipment

           With Events Managers, conduct monthly inventory of food, napkins, bottled water, and other supplies needed to support events. Reorder depleted inventory in a timely manner

           Ensure compliance with health and safety obligations

           Drive as needed on behalf of employer, subject to a satisfactory background check result on employee's driving record

           Support facilities team members (custodial, maintenance, etc.) when needed, as requested by Assistant Head of School and/or Events Scheduling and Logistics Manager

           Engage in professional and personal development with a consistent commitment to growth

           Participate fully in meetings and initiate opportunities that demonstrate one's growth, knowledge, and skills

           Other duties as assigned by Events Scheduling and Logistics Manager, Assistant Head of School, or another senior administrator

    In addition, a candidate should possess the following qualities and attributes:

           Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    This position requires daily physical labor that includes sitting, standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment. Event Set-Up and Support Staff personnel must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Job responsibilities include both inside and outside assignments on work surfaces that may vary from concrete to grass to hardwood floors or carpet. Must be able to work well with a range of people. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. Shift hours rotate and can include evenings and weekends, as well as overtime.

    COMPENSATION: Brentwood School's employment requirements vary, from positions requiring no experience to those needing 20+ years of expert experience. For this position, our hourly pay ranges from $20.12 -$25.78/hour and considers all levels of experience. Compensation is determined based on years of experience, education, full- or part-time status, the category of the role, and the number of months worked per school year. Salary ranges do not include benefits, i.e. 403b retirement matching, paid lunch time, free breakfast and lunch, free parking, subsidy toward medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D plans, and generous time off. The pay range is an estimate and is not guaranteed. If hired, your actual base pay will be determined by your education, experience, and category.
