Lower School Spanish Support Teacher

    Reports to: Lower School Division Head

    Primary Responsibilities:  Support Grades K-4 Spanish classes; collaborate and lesson plan with colleagues to design experiences for students; communicate and partner with parents and grade-level teams

    Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

    Hours/Classification: Part-Time (approx 10 hours/week); Non-exempt; In-Person 

    Salary: $28 - $35 /hour DOE

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Support the Head Spanish Teachers in K-4 classroom management and program implementation in Grades K-4
    • Teach with an understanding of the development and growth of lower school girls
    • Communicate and collaborate with other faculty and staff regarding each girl
    • Assess student progress using a variety of methods
    • Include use of appropriate technology tools and resources for instruction
    • Supervise students in other roles such as recess, lunch, field trips, etc.

    WORK AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS 

    • Clear the Department of Justice background screening (Livescan) 
    • Authorized to work in the United States (I-9)
    • Provide health (TB) clearance (an update is expected every four years) 

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

    • Demonstrate normal depth perception 
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone ●
    • See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids 
    • Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone with or without auditory aides 

    WORK ENVIRONMENT 

    • The work environment characteristics are representative of those in a normal classroom/school setting that one might encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.     • Work indoors in a standard office environment, computer lab, and/or classroom environment 
    • Some exposure to childhood and other diseases in a school environment 
    • May be required to work outside of typical work days and office hours to meet operational deadlines
