    CRSJ MISSION

    Cristo Rey San José is a Jesuit, Catholic college-prep high school where students of any faith commit to a rigorous curriculum and professional work experience. Students realize their inherent potential and prepare to complete a post-secondary education that will set them on a path toward a sustainable, fulfilling future.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Instructional Coach serves as part of the Instructional Leadership Team and is responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers and school leadership with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, bringing justice and equity into the classrooms, and building teacher capacity. The Instructional Coach works as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning. The Instructional Coach focuses on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction. In order to meet this purpose, the Instructional Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers.

    7. Creating opportunities for students to utilize complex reasoning strategies and problem solving skills
    8. Consistently engages in work with positivity and adapts to the student and institutional needs with openness
    9. Reinforcing professionalism and Corporate Work Study Program skills like precision and accuracy, computing, and time management
    10. Teaching key content knowledge for given subject


    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    For Teachers 

    • Consistently observes and coaches a caseload of 4-5 faculty members.
    • Meets with faculty members every 3 to 4 weeks depending on need (option for biweekly is available)
    • Facilitates goals and data driven “cycles of inquiry” with each teacher they coach.
    • Assists teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment and analysis of student work.
    • Works with teachers to develop and implement effective classroom management procedures.
    • Assists teachers in creating rigorous, aligned tasks and assessments.
    • Supports teachers in working towards identified school-wide and personal goals
    • Reviews teachers’ curriculum and gradebooks 
    • Exhibits flexibility in scheduling teacher meetings and observations
    • Develops and maintains a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers.
    • Understands when to contact administrators regarding issues of safety/ethics involving students in the classroom observed.


    For Professional Development

    • Develop and facilitate ongoing professional growth for all teachers.
    • Models lessons when appropriate
    • Provides organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as needed.
    • Supports the Instructional Leadership Team to develop and implement professional development that is engaging, relevant, and responsive to the needs of teachers.
    • Participates fully in professional development for coaches, including peer observations, professional research and reading, and inquiry sessions


    For Instructional Leadership Team

    • Supports the Instructional Leadership Team in setting and carrying out the academic vision of Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School
    • Analyzes school practices with a lens on equity and student performance.
    • Communicates, implements, and demonstrates practices in instruction that are researched-based.
    • Provides support in analyzing student assessment data.
    • Continuously researches best instructional and coaching practices.
    • Meets weekly with the Instructional Leadership Team 
    • Performs duties as assigned by the Principal.


    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree Required
    • Valid Teaching Credential
    • Master’s Degree in relevant educational field preferred 
    • Experience coaching teachers and successfully leading professional development sessions preferred.
    • Experience serving an economically under-resourced population of students

    SALARY AND COMPENSATION

    • Range between $71,718 to $138,287 on a salary schedule based on education and years of experience. 
    • Full time employees are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, and retirement. Employees’ premiums are covered for medical, dental and vision at 100% and dependents at 50% if elected. This position is eligible for enrollment in the group voluntary retirement plan – 403b. 
    • 10 month faculty contract
