    This is a part-time position

    Start Date: August 2024

    Summary:

The San Francisco Waldorf High School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Eurythmy Teacher to join us in August of 2024. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to working with adolescents and the skill to communicate about and develop eurythmy within the school. The high school eurythmy teacher will collaborate with the student support team to contribute their insight and skills to working with the whole student.

The Eurythmy teacher will plan and teach Eurythmy classes to groups of approximately 15-20 students in grades 9-12.  All students take Eurythmy in 9th and 10th grade, while Eurythmy is an elective movement class for 11th and 12th grade. There is a piano accompanist for rehearsals.

The commitment is four classes per week throughout the school year, and two daytime rehearsals with the Eurythmy Troupe. During peak performance preparation, extra hours may be needed to work with the troupe; to be determined.

This position would work well for someone who is looking for another “piece” to fit into their

schedule of teaching, lessons, art performance, or other interests. Compensation is based on class hours taught, with extra hours for performance preparation and performance time as agreed upon with the High School Chair and High School Steering Committee.

    Qualifications:

The position requires a deep understanding of Eurythmy.

The ideal candidate will have experience choosing age-appropriate and multicultural material to teach

           Experience with choreographing for adolescents.
