    The Facilities (and Transportation) Associate reports to the Facilities Manager.  This position is responsible for assisting with the daily duties of the Facilities Department to ensure that the campus is clean, safe and in working condition. Additionally, this position may support the Windward Transportation Program, if certified as a bus driver*.

    Primary Responsibilities include:

    Facilities Support

    • Supports the daily functions of the Facilities Team with event setups and breakdowns, as well as routine custodial services.
    • Assists with various janitorial duties each day, including but not limited to trash pickup, sweeping, gutter maintenance, leaf blowing, power washing, and other janitorial duties as requested by the Facilities Manager, Plant & Vendor Manager, Director of Infrastructure and Risk Management, and the Chief Operating Officer.
    • Assists with campus maintenance, in addition to, minor repairs as needed.
    • Answers all emails, texts, and communications within 24 hours.
    • Work’s nights and weekends as needed to support the functions of events on campus.
    • Follows all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure safety of self, team, and school.

    Transportation Responsibilities (if applicable) –

    • Drives the Windward School buses for field trips, athletic contests/practices, and as requested for school needs.
    • Adheres to all federal and state laws and regulations as a school bus driver.
    • Maintains Class B California Driver’s License and certification as a bus driver.

    Requirements

    • Preferred 3-5 years’ experience working in a maintenance or janitorial profession.
    • Preferred certification as a bus driver with current Class B California Driver’s License.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Superior organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
    • Problem solving, analysis, and judgment skills.
    • Proficiency in Google Email, Google Docs, and Microsoft Word.
    • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of Windward School.

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to:
    • Stand for long periods of time.
    • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
    • Engage in frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, and pulling.
    • Work in various weather and temperature conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold.

    Salary Range: $54,756 - $70,000, depending on experience.
