    Athletics Coordinator

    The Buckley School, an independent K-12 school, is seeking a half-time Athletics Coordinator for the 2024- 2025 school year. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Athletics Coordinator oversees the scheduling of Middle and Upper School athletics facilities, practices, and games, orders, organizes and maintains equipment, uniforms, and the like, oversees communication with all constituents, and provides other administrative support as requested.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    ● Assist the Director of Athletics with the development and implementation of research-based, developmentally appropriate K-12 P.E/athletic curriculum to fulfill the school’s mission, commitment to DEI, the Buckley Commitment, and the Portrait of a Graduate.

    ● Promote the implementation of health and wellness programs to employ instructional practices.

    to create equitable and inclusive teams, classroom communities, and student experiences characterized as uplifting and affirming learning experiences for all students.

    ● Work with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications to promote Buckley Athletics to the broader community.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    ● Act as a liaison between the Athletics office and Business Office to

    ○ Secure transportation for all team practices and games

    ○ Collect, organize, and submit receipts and/or create purchase orders

    ● Secure facilities for all team practices and games

    ● Order, organize, distribute, and collect all athletics equipment, forms, awards, and uniforms for all teams and coaches

    ● Create the weekly schedule for all teams and communicate logistics to coaches and faculty

    ● Communicate updates with the Plant Operations Department with updates on schedules, dismissal times, campus events etc.

    ● Submit game schedules to assignors to book game officials

    ● Update the school website and social media channels regularly with photos, news, and updates about calendar, games, practices, and team information

    - Update CIF site with games and scores

    - Connect with the Communications Department to relay updates to the broader

    community

    ● Submit athletes for All CIF

    ● Coordinate Athletic trainers for events

    ● Serve as liaison for coaching staff with student-athletes and the Athletic Director

    ● Organize playoffs and post-playoff games in accordance with CIF compliance

    ● Support attendance routines for coaches and school-day attendance

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    ● Bachelor's degree, preferably in physical education, kinesiology, or related field.

    ● Two years of successful experience organizing and/or implementing moderate to complex plans or programs.

    ● Experience coaching a sports team or two years’ experience participating in a sport at the collegiate level.

    ● Demonstrates adaptability, dependability, good judgment, strong social skills, impressive communication and presentation skills in writing and speaking, and the ability to read, assess, imagine, evaluate, calculate, & make wise decisions

    ● Demonstrated flexibility in response to changing demands and priorities

    ● Demonstrated ability to handle deadlines and pressure with calm and grace

    ● Dependable, completes assigned tasks, and has excellent follow-through abilities

    ● Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

    ● Coordinate effectively amongst a varied group of internal and external team members

    ● Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Education Edge, various social media platforms, and the ability to learn new and evolving technology

    ● General knowledge of diverse sports activities

    ● Flexibility to occasionally work long hours, including attendance at weekend and evening events

    ● Excellent communication skills in person, in writing by phone, and through electronic means (such as zoom)

    ● This position requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision-making, dependability, good judgment, reading, memorizing, social skills, speaking, multitasking, and writing

    COMPENSATION

    $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

    The base salary is separate from fringe benefits, such as retirement contributions, daily lunch, on-site parking, contributions to medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D plans, our generous time off policy, or potential stipends (for eligible employees). Our pay ranges are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at The Buckley School, your actual base salary will be determined by your education and experience.
