    About Francis Parker School:

    Francis Parker School is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1315 students in grades JK-12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world.” Francis Parker School has two campuses in close proximity. One in Mission Hills (Lower School JK-5), and a second in Linda Vista (Middle and Upper School 6-8 and 9-12, respectively).

    Job Description:

    Francis Parker School seeks a qualified Chemistry teacher for Grades 10-12. This position requires a 6-week commitment from 6/24/2024-8/2/2024 (8:30 am-2 pm, Monday-Thursday and *for the week of July 3-7, the class will not meet on July 4 and the class will meet Friday, July 7), in addition to any mandatory training sessions before the beginning of class. Must be available for onboarding no later than 6/15/24.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    ● Daily classroom instruction; including planning and teaching a challenging and fast-paced course of study in a developmentally appropriate manner, with experience in differentiating instruction.

    ● Prioritizing and examining inclusive curricula, teaching practice, and environment.

    ● Providing regular and timely feedback to students about the trajectory of their learning.

    ● Ongoing communication and conferencing with parents.

    ● Conferencing with students and colleagues as required.

    Qualifications:

    ● A degree and preferably a teaching certificate in a Scientific discipline with an emphasis on Chemistry.

    ● Globally Harmonized System (GHS) training.

    ● The ability to passionately and effectively teach Upper School Science.

    Salary and Benefits:

    This is an Exempt Seasonal position (Working hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30 am – 2 pm). The pay rate range is $1,150 - $1,875/week, depending on education and experience. This position is not eligible for benefits.
