Position Overview:
We believe that all students can be solid mathematics students: We must simply discover the pace at which each student learns best. Courses and course sequencing are designed with pacing differences in mind. The standard sequence for an Upper School student begins with integrated math courses, Math 1, Math 2, Math 3, and culminates with Calculus. Within that sequence, students can enter into an Essentials or Enriched pathway. The Enriched pathway leads to Crossroads Advanced Courses (CAS), which dive more deeply into topics and units. While students following the Essentials pathway are encouraged to study Probability and Statistics, any student on any pathway can choose this course after Math 2.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum B.A. in mathematics, mathematics education or a related field (graduate degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years high school mathematics teaching experience
- Practice with incorporating technology into lessons
- Supportive of individual students and their learning, enthusiastic about the subject and committed to a collaborative and team approach
