    Salary: Annual salary range $85,000-$95,000.

    Position Description

    The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role within our four-person business office team,

    overseeing full-cycle accounts payable, including employee reimbursements, corporate

    credit card expenses, and expense reporting. Additionally, this position provides support for

    student billing, collections, and performs thorough balance sheet account reconciliations

    and income statement account analysis. The role actively contributes to the month-end

    closing process, facilitates financial statement preparation for senior leadership decision-

    making, and assists in annual audit, quarterly, and annual tax filings. This role reports to

    the Controller.

    Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, such as weekly check runs through 3rd party (Paymerang) payment system, accurate vendor records for 1099 reporting, proper approvals and follows company policies.

    • Oversee employee and parent reimbursements, handling documentation and compliance with company policies.

    • Handle speaker agreements, ensuring proper recording, payment, and adherence to contractual terms.

    • Manage the preparation and issuance of 1099 forms for applicable vendors and contractors.

    • Coordinate Google Forms related to financial data collection, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

    • Take charge of corporate credit card expense management, reconciling statements and ensuring compliance with expense policies.

    • Maintain organized records and documentation for all financial transactions and agreements.

    • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

    • Assist in month-end closing procedures and contribute to financial reporting activities by managing department budget dashboards in accounting software and scheduling monthly or quarterly budget reviews.

    • Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.

    • Actively participate in a collaborative employee culture that is committed to being at the leading edge of 9 - 12th grade education.

    • Appropriately and effectively communicate with vendors, faculty, staff and parents as necessary.

    • Develop and implement a Purchasing Order system across campus.

    Qualifications

    • Desire and ability to work in a collegial, highly collaborative environment

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from accredited four-year college, or accounting experience

    • Nonprofit industry and/or public accounting experience preferred

    • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Paymerang preferred

    This job is a full-time, full-year, exempt position. It requires occasional evening and weekend commitments. Salary and benefits are highly competitive and commensurate with experience. The position necessitates working onsite with some flexibility to work remotely in accordance with the schools remote policy.
