Visual Arts Teacher for Archer Summer

    The Archer School for Girls is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Visual Arts teacher to join Archer Summer’s Middle School program for girls in grades 6th-8th from June 10 - 28, 2024. The ideal candidate has experience teaching art in middle school and is able to provide workshops in a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, video and sculpture. Archer summer is committed to providing students with the opportunity to take creative risks, make new friends, and experience Archer's joyful culture, which celebrates the possibility of every girl.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Teach 4 workshops from 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday: Workshops are week-long and held Monday-Friday for one hour each. (Archer Summer is closed on Wednesday, June 19.)
    • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a diverse visual arts curriculum that includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and other forms of creative expression suitable for girls entering 6th - 8th grades. Workshops must be structured in a way that allows a student to join for any number of weeks. 
    • Instruction: Provide engaging and age-appropriate art instruction to students, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
    • Materials Management: Organize and maintain art supplies and equipment, ensuring they are safe and suitable for the students' use. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field.
    • Previous experience teaching art to children and/or adolescents.
    • Strong artistic skills and proficiency in various art forms.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Salary range: $1,840 - $2,300 per week (depending on qualifications and experience)
