The Archer School for Girls is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Visual Arts teacher to join Archer Summer’s Middle School program for girls in grades 6th-8th from June 10 - 28, 2024. The ideal candidate has experience teaching art in middle school and is able to provide workshops in a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, video and sculpture. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach 4 workshops from 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday: Workshops are week-long and held Monday-Friday for one hour each. (Archer Summer is closed on Wednesday, June 19.)
• Curriculum Development: Design and implement a diverse visual arts curriculum that includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and other forms of creative expression suitable for girls entering 6th - 8th grades. Workshops must be structured in a way that allows a student to join for any number of weeks. 
• Instruction: Provide engaging and age-appropriate art instruction to students, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Materials Management: Organize and maintain art supplies and equipment, ensuring they are safe and suitable for the students' use. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field.
• Previous experience teaching art to children and/or adolescents.
• Strong artistic skills and proficiency in various art forms.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary range: $1,840 - $2,300 per week (depending on qualifications and experience)
