Director of Campus Safety for St. Matthew's Parish School
This position will report to Joffe Emergency Services

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Director of Campus Safety and Security to serve and manage a school and church co-located campus in the Pacific Palisades, CA area. The Director of Campus Safety and Security will assist the school with its mission to provide the highest quality of education by providing for the safety and security of all students, staff, and property. Additionally, the Director will develop programs and provide services that will promote a safe and orderly environment for all students, staff, and church parishioners and manage and coach appropriate staff toward meeting this goal. The duties listed below are representative of the general duties of the role and are not an exhaustive list, as additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:

Participate as a member of multiple SafetyTeams (i.e. School Safety Team, Board Safety Task Force, etc).

Develop, train and strengthen other staff in customer service, campus relationship development, etc.

Manages campus safety personnel, directly or indirectly, as required
-
Assists with developing and coordinating cooperative agreements, interagency agreements, and contracts with other agencies
-
Reviews Campus policies and protocols and makes recommendations that would help direct and respond to emergency responses

Serves as the campus liaison to the local Police Department, Fire Department, and other law enforcement and emergency management related agencies

Establishes clear lines of accountability and command within the campus’ health and safety forces

Establishes and maintains a campus safety program, including but not limited to:
-

Building safety & surveillance systems ;
-
Visitor registration and identification procedures;
-
Emergency plans for evacuations, lockdowns, building searches, and other crisis;
-
Safety staff orientation and training programs;
-
An Emergency Operating Procedure Manual (“EOP Manual”);
-
Effective and efficient deployment of safety personnel;
-
Radio communication for entire campus

Coordinates the compilation, analysis, and submission of reports such as substance abuse, assault and battery, violence, and vandalism

Advises architectural design teams for construction and renovation projects relative to campus safety
-
In collaboration with the Human Resources department, provide training for campus staff in safety and security areas as required by Federal, State, and/or local initiative

In collaboration with campus administration, administers the Safety and Security budget to ensure the most cost-effective utilization of resources.

Coordinates campus collaborative efforts with municipal agencies for accident investigations, crossing guard deployment, law enforcement, traffic management, protection of property, health and fire inspections, fire drills, and the development of emergency plans

Serves as the campus liaison to Federal, State, and Local investigative, law enforcement, and judicial agencies, Office of Emergency Preparedness, and emergency planning committees

Schedule and lead required drills- Lockdown, Emergency Evacuation, and Severe Weather Drills, etc.

Create and present Safety presentations to multiple stakeholder groups

Participates in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attends any required meetings

Protects confidentiality of records and information about staff, and uses discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines

Supports administrative team with:

Facilitating teacher training and support around relationships, proactive positive culture, expectations, consistency, and classroom management

Leading school-wide recognition assemblies, parent workshops, community events, and other culture-building activities
-
Supporting teachers in building relationships with students and parents; implement the parental involvement plan and run the parent involvement committee

Ensuring that the physical environment of the school reinforces school culture and facilitates student growth and achievement
-
Conducting regular campus culture walkthroughs, classroom observations and audits to help staff maintain a high bar of excellence
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Have at least three (3) years supervisory experience, including assigning, managing, and evaluating staff required.

Have at least three (3) years recent successful leadership or administrator experience in field relevant to the position required
-
Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with no serious violations.

Be on-call 24/7 to respond to and/or coordinate safety and security emergencies, including weather related events
-
Experience in Project Management
-
Experience in developing SOPs and policies relevant to security
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Previous Contract Security, facilities management, military or law enforcement, emergency medical experience

Experience developing and managing budgets.

Pay Rate: $90,000-$105,000
