Part-Time Accounts Payable Accountant

Job Description
The Accounts Payable Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for the oversight and organization of all accounts payable functions of the School as well as other miscellaneous accounting functions as needed. The position is approximately 16 hours per week.
Essential Job Functions
● Ensuring invoices are processed in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures and ensuring compliance with company policies
● Issuing payments via check on a weekly basis or when required
● Manage mailing checks and expedite special handling
● Proper filing of all paid invoices
● Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
● Researching and resolving any invoice discrepancies
● Provide other general bookkeeping assistance as needed within the business office
● Execute additional tasks as needed
● Provide internal and external audit assistance as required
Skills, Qualifications, Experience
● Minimum two years’ experience in a similar capacity
● BA or Associates Degree preferred
● Proficient use of accounting, spreadsheet, database and word processing software. Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
● Detail-oriented, flexible and organized worker with initiative and ability to work independently and adjust priorities to meet changing deadlines
● Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Pay Scale
The anticipated pay range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for the part-time (.40 FTE) position of Part-Time Accounts Payable Accountant is $36 to $45 per hour, depending on factors such as experience and education.
