    Crossroads School is an independent, K-12, co-educational school of 1,200 students located in the beach city of Santa Monica, CA.     The Associate Director of Elementary Admission serves as a point of contact for prospective families, providing a warm, customer-centered approach. This role also maintains a visible presence on the Elementary School campus, works closely with the Elementary School administration for event planning and program coordination, and supports all facets of the admission process.

    Status: December 2023- June 2024

    Compensation Range: $38.00- $43.00/ Hourly Rate

    Job Description: 

    Customer/Family service:

    • Serves as a point of contact for families interested in applying to grades K-5.
    • Answers admission emails.

    Event Coordination:

    • Schedules, tracks, and provides support for in-person and virtual admission programs such as campus tours, open houses, family conversations, observation visits, visit days, committees, orientations, and other special events as scheduled in Slate, internal meeting calendar, and Master Calendar.
    • Partners with the Elementary School administration in planning admission events.

    Program Coordination:

    • Manages the admission Parent Ambassador program at the Elementary School.

    Admission Recruitment and Evaluation:

    • Presents to visitors touring the Elementary School.
    • Interviews applicant families.
    • Evaluates applicants during observational visits.
    • Reads applications and serves on the Admission Committee.
    • Represents the School at preschool fairs, preschool visits, and other admission community events.

    Other responsibilities:

    • Customer/family service:
    • Answers admission phone calls.
    • Tracks visitor rosters and event attendance.
    • Scans and uploads documents to admission files.

    Physical Demands:

    • Sitting for long periods of time.
    • Standing for long periods of time.
    • Walking short distances around and between Crossroads campuses.
    • Lifting or carrying boxes/supplies up to 20 lbs.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree required.
    • Fluent in English.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Software, Google Suite, and database and event management software.
    • Experience in preschool, independent school or higher education admission or customer service.
    • Experience working with a highly diverse workforce and clientele.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Experience in event planning.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with simultaneous projects and deadlines.
    • A friendly, gracious, professional manner and outlook.
