    SUMMARY

    The Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Relations plays an integral role in engaging Webb’s more than 4,500 alumni worldwide. The Assistant Director is responsible for the development and implementation of programs and events designed to inform and engage alumni and donors with the goal of increasing affinity, participation, and financial support of The Webb Schools and Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology. The Assistant Director will also produce correspondence, printed material, and online communications for, and about, alumni and donors to further the strategic goals of the Advancement Office.

    RELATIONSHIPS

    The Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Relations reports directly to the Director of Alumni and Donor Relations. This position interacts with volunteers, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Must be able to successfully perform the following duties and other duties as assigned and necessary:

    • Implement and develop ongoing alumni programs such as the networking and mentorship program WebbWorks, college alumni midterm packages, as well as alumni panels for Summer Programs, special events, and more.
    • Collect, write, and produce engaging and appropriate alumni content (stories, photography, and video) for the website and print publications. This includes alumni news articles, notable alumni profiles, class notes, obituaries, event promotion, Towne & Baseline e-newsletter, and more.
    • Organize regional alumni events that support alumni Regional Representatives.
    • Oversee alumni social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. Post content on a regular basis on each platform while tracking metrics and monitoring online conversations.
    • Assist in volunteer management of the Alumni Council and its subcommittees, including planning and execution of meetings, and annual Council activities such as the Alumni Awards Program, Senior Dinner, Career Evening, regional outreach, and more.
    • Increase reachable alumni base by researching, networking, and updating alumni records.
    • Support alumni class agent program to increase alumni engagement and financial support.
    • Support all aspects of the Reunion Program including recruiting, training, and supporting reunion volunteers and assisting with Reunion Giving campaigns.
    • Proactively reach out to alumni to cultivate and steward relationships.
    • Oversee the online directory and ensure synchronized updates with Raiser’s Edge NXT database.
    • Manage and maintain alumni engagement, retention, and stewardship data in alignment with the CASE annual Alumni Engagement Metrics Survey.
    • Assist with major school programs and events including but not limited to: Alumni Weekend, Alumni Reunion Program, Regional Alumni Events, Stewardship Dinners and Events, Campaign Events, and more.
    • Assist with the creation and production of donor stewardship reports such as the annual Report of the Schools, annual endowed stewardship reports, and gift acknowledgments.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Occasional local or regional travel may be required to visit alumni and to staff regional events.
    • Occasional evening and weekend work required.
    • Support the development and implementation of all major alumni and donor events.
    • Maintain working knowledge of campus news.
    • Learn and utilize the development information system – Raiser’s Edge NXT – and other platforms utilized by the Advancement Office such as PeopleGrove.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

    • B.A. required, and a minimum of 1-2 years of development, marketing or event experience preferred.
    • Strong writing and proof-reading skills.
    • Strong planning and communication skills.
    • Understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn) to promote content.
    • Introductory or intermediate knowledge of Adobe Suite for photo and video editing.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and be responsive to deadlines.
    • Outstanding attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
    • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
    • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    A current California driver license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record is required. A criminal background check must be successfully completed before employment can begin.

    OTHER SKILLS

    Given the responsibilities of leadership, specific duties, and authority vested in this position, the counselor must communicate well, verbally and in writing, and possess strong analytical skills in order to make informed decisions. Effective interpersonal skills are required to manage personnel and students, solve problems, and represent The Webb Schools in the external community.

    COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

    Anticipated annual salary range: $70,000
