    Overview of Position

    The Human Resources and Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing management and coordination of personnel support such as payroll processing, benefits administration, and interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Kirby standards. This position also oversees insurance liability issues and risk management for Kirby School, spreading awareness of policies, coordinating programs to promote the observation of guidelines and ensuring documents and records are kept in compliance. This position reports to the Controller.

    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
    • Administration of employee benefits programs
    • Process semi-monthly payroll
    • Facilitate employee on-boarding and termination
    • Maintain documents and records such as insurance policies, contracts, waivers, vendor agreements
    • Research and ensure compliance with personnel and liability requirements
    • Oversee key compliance-related activities essential to the operation of the school
    • Maintain and uphold a culture of safety and inclusivity
    • Provide administrative support to the Business Office
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate will be supportive, flexible, confident, discrete and helpful. A minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources and/or risk and liability compliance is required. A bachelor’s degree and school-related experience is a plus. This person should have a proven track record of excellent work ethic, strong communication skills, and meeting deadlines.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 20 hours per week

    Pay rate based upon qualifications and experience. This position would constitute 50% of FTE and includes the option to buy into health benefits.
