    About Presidio Knolls School

    Presidio Knolls School (PKS), founded in 2008, has grown rapidly since its start as a two-room preschool, establishing a unique position in Bay Area’s independent school community through its blend of progressive education and Mandarin immersion. As of fall 2019 the school will enrolls 390 students in preschool through seventh grade and will continue to add one grade per year until 2020 when it will be a fully enrolled preschool through eighth grade.  

    The highly engaged parent community at PKS is seen as one of the school’s greatest strengths. Current fundraising efforts include the annual Red Envelope campaign, which this year seeks to raise $500,000, and a Capital Campaign that has delivered more than $19 million in new pledges within the last 5 years.

    PKS seeks an enthusiastic and motivated professional to join the school in support of its advancement program.  The Associate will assist with a variety of development initiatives including Annual Fund support, database management, event planning, and donor stewardship, among other tasks. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt position reporting to the Head of School and working closely with the Advancement Consultant.

    Primary responsibilities

    • ·         Assist in the implementation of all aspects of the school’s development program
    • ·         Maintain the development database, generate receipts and acknowledgements, create queries, run reports, and exports, and provide analysis
    • ·         Produce the Annual fund (Red Envelope) solicitation letters, manage mailings, and generate email campaigns
    • ·         Process and acknowledge all donations in a timely manner
    • ·         Support various donor cultivation and stewardship efforts
    • ·         Assist in organizing and executing a variety of annual events
    • ·         Manage logistics and data input for the online auction
    • ·         Provide daily general assistance to the Advancement Consultant and Head of School, and participate in additional development and school-wide activities as requested
    • ·         Perform additional activities as may be required, and other duties as assigned.


    ·         Bachelor’s Degree

    ·         Minimum of 2 years office experience, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting

    • ·         Proficiency with MS Office, social media (Facebook and LinkedIn), and databases
    • ·         Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suit applications, MailChimp, a plus
    • ·         Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and other constituents
    • ·         Ability to manage highly sensitive financial and other personal information with confidentiality
    • ·         Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment with attention to detail and accuracy
    • ·         Demonstrated flexibility, collaborative approach and a sense of humor!
    • ·         Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends for events, possible travel

    Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
