Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator plays an important role at The Brandeis School of San Francisco by supporting the school’s fundraising and community-building initiatives. This position works closely with Advancement and Admissions staff, helping both departments achieve their short and long-term goals. The Project Coordinator will contribute to Brandeis’s development efforts by assisting with donor communications, stewardship and recognition programs, and special events. This person will also help market the school to internal and external audiences using social media and other online tools.
The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit. They are motivated to ensure high-quality experiences and communications that reflect the values and vibrancy of the Brandeis community, and wish to make a meaningful impact on Jewish education in San Francisco. This would be an excellent role for someone who is interested in non-profit administration, independent school education, Jewish communal work, event planning, marketing, and communications. The Project Coordinator will report to the Admissions Director on Mondays and Tuesdays and the Director of Development Wednesday through Friday. This is a non-exempt full time position.
Key Responsibilities
Special Events
• Assist with all aspects of planning and producing special events throughout the year, including coordination of logistics, vendor and venue selection, catering, entertainment, A/V, décor, contracts, and timelines. (Special events include donor receptions, Grandparent and Special Friends Day, Spring Gala and Silent Auction, alumni reunions, graduation, and more.)
• Maintain project calendars and communicate consistently with staff and school leadership to ensure events are executed successfully.
• Provide backup and logistical support for department-led events, while keeping in mind new ways to grow donor engagement and giving.
Communications
• Create content for social media channels using new and existing photography and video; monitor engagement and assess overall effectiveness and strategy;
• Create and maintain a digital library of photographic and video images of school life;
• Maintain and suggest improvements to Brandeis website, including calendars, events, announcements, resource boards, etc.
• Design simple digital assets for email marketing and internal communications;
• Photograph day to day activities and events for use in print and online materials;
• Support internal school communications, including weekly newsletters and community-wide announcements;
Desired / Required Skills
• Ideal candidate is a mission-driven individual with an understanding of branding, communications, and social media; public relations experience is a plus but not required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Able to work on-site with schedule flexibility to cover school activities which can sometimes be in the mornings, evenings, and occasionally on weekends.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage and collaborate on multiple projects involving differing stakeholders.
• Digitally savvy with a strong design aesthetic and graphic design skills, and a working knowledge of (or willingness to learn quickly) Google Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, Blackbaud, website CMSs, and social media platforms.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage various stakeholders in the school community.
• Ability to take photography and edit and produce video.
• Ability to multitask, manage and prioritize competing demands.
• Experience in social media strategy development and deployment.
• Experience in content creation, design, and production. Experience working at an independent school or Jewish community organization is helpful, but not essential.
Physical qualifications:
• Late nights and weekends as needed for event planning, coordinating, and execution
• Regularly sit, stand, talk, and listen through events
• Able to bend, lift, and use a ladder
