About Francis Parker School:
Francis Parker School is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1300 students in grades JK-12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world”.
Overlooking Mission Valley, two separate campuses serve students in Lower School – junior kindergarten through 5th grade; Middle School – 6th grade through 8th grade and Upper School – 9th grade through 12th grade. As a college preparatory school Parker offers a comprehensive program that includes twenty-five advanced placement courses as well as a rich palette of electives – all designed to meet the individual needs of our students.
This is a temporary, one-year assignment for the 2020-2021 school year. The School is seeking an associate teacher with experience teaching elementary physical education. Instructional responsibilities will involve working closely with the lead physical education teachers to coordinate curriculum and instruction, contributing to and teaching physical education lessons, and communicating closely and effectively within the school community. Additionally, the associate teacher will be responsible for some general playground supervision.
Faculty and staff members, including associate teachers, also participate in other components of the life of the school, including committees and duties.
Applicants should have at least a bachelor's degree and a teaching credential is desirable. Prior elementary school physical education teaching experience is essential. The successful applicant will be computer literate, possess excellent writing skills, be willing to work as a strong team member, and have an abiding interest in helping young people experience success in school.

Salary and Benefits
This temporary Part Time Physical Education Associate Teacher positions is eligible for prorated benefits. This position is paid hourly, working approximately 30 - 35 hours per week and pay ranging from $14.50 - $17.50 per hour, depending on experience and educational background.
