    Position Overview

    Marlborough School seeks an innovative, experienced, creative, and engaged Associate Director of Alumnae Engagement to lead institution-wide efforts and initiatives related to the cultivation and engagement of 4,000+ alumnae. This full-time position reports directly to the Director of Advancement and works closely with other members of the Advancement Office and the Communications Office.

    Major Functions and Responsibilities

           Responsible for the engagement of, fundraising, and communication for 4,000+ person alumnae community

           Oversees and coordinates Alumnae Leadership Board and Young Alumnae Council by leading quarterly meetings, defining and implementing the annual alumnae outreach strategy, and working closely with Presidents on implementation among volunteers

           Additionally, manages Class Agents who primarily assist with Class Notes and volunteering for reunions

           Plans and executes Marlborough’s Giving Day; coordinates and implements a communication strategy and social media pushes, instructs the Alumnae Leadership Board and Young Alumnae Council to arrange outreach, solicits alumnae for donations, monitors 100+ volunteers and their progress, keeps up to date progress reports on social media and website, updates the entire alumnae community with the success after the 24-hour period of fundraising ends

           Manages @marlboroughalumnae social media accounts and online directory/networking platform

           Plans all alumnae events including, but not limited to: reunion weekend, alumnae speaker series, donor stewardship and recognition, and more

           Collaborates with on-campus partners to coordinate partnership opportunities such as alumnae speakers in classes and alumnae mentors for Honors Research and Capstone Projects

           Assists Communications Team with digital and print assets, including annual Class Notes and alumnae fundraising solicitations

           Oversees alumnae awards processes

           Works together with Advancement Team to keep alumnae records up to date within the database, including adding notes for major life events or successes

           Handles all alumnae-focused administrative work including responding to all communications through the alumnae@marlborough.org inbox and telephone inquiries, and serving as first touchpoint/liaison at the school for the alumnae community

           An understanding of the unique mission, values, and culture (current and aspirational) of Marlborough

           An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to think strategically and creatively

           Extraordinary attention to detail in all aspects of written and verbal communication

           Strong project management skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines

           An understanding of the importance of market research and data analysis in culling and maintaining information on alumnae

           Demonstrated experience working with a team

           An interest in all aspects of school life, including faculty and student activities

           Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use job related computer programs, such as Raiser’s Edge and Google Suite

           Ability to exercise sound judgment relating to confidential projects, school or student matters, including effective communication regarding such matters

    Education and Experience

           Bachelor’s Degree required

           Minimum of 5-7 years professional experience required
