Reverse Musical Chairs

California independent schools are increasingly looking like a game of musical chairs played in reverse.  Each new school year we find there are fewer children to fill the existing number of student desks.  Missing such a shift in your market can wreak havoc on budgets, revenue projections, and enrollment plans.

Understanding your market and addressing issues of affordability are critical pieces in managing the ongoing financial sustainability of your school.  Looking ahead and anticipating trends puts your school in the proactive position of planning the best approach in your market.

Using K-12 independent Viewpoint School as a case study, this presentation will examine sometimes startling demographic trends and how Business Officers can help lead a proactive process to promote financial sustainability during fluctuating enrollment trends.  Learn how a Tuition Sustainability Task Force used data to construct a more detailed, multi-layered vision of its competitive environment, and understand the differing value-proposition elements at various entry grades. Walk through the development of a competitive-pricing model and see how the task force used primary demographic research to arrive at outreach, enrollment-strategy, and tuition-pricing decisions.

Please join Chad Tew, an independent CFO, operations / marketing consultant and education sector entrepreneur, for a presentation and discussion that will examine demographic trends and how you can help your school proactively plan for them.
