    Founded in 1974, Pacific Primary is a nonprofit preschool, located in the NoPA neighborhood of San Francisco. Pacific Primary’s central mission is to spark a passion in children for a lifelong love of learning, caring and creating. Pacific Primary serves 155 students and employs 48 staff.

    Pacific Primary is seeking to contract with an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented bookkeeper for 10-15 hours per week. While this position cannot accommodate telecommuting at this time, there is potential for it to become a flexible position for the right candidate.


    Specific tasks include:

    • Manage accounts payable: post bills to Quickbooks online, generate weekly bill payments, obtain necessary signatures and file processed bills

    • Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll including

     -collecting timesheets for non-exempt employees

     -creating new employee profile in ADP payroll system

    • Post accounts receivable journal entries from Student Billing software to Quickbooks online

    • Monitor Student Billing A/R account to ensure balance is accurate

    • Monitor receivables to ensure collection

    • Post PTO/sick time off journal entries into Quickbooks online

    • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits as needed

    • Maintain petty cash

    • Monthly bank statement and credit card reconciliation

    • Monthly reconciliation of donations between donor database and Quickbooks online

    • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate balances

    • Generate monthly financial statements: statement of income and expense compared to budget, balance sheet

    • Prepare monthly classroom and kitchen budget reports


    Qualifications:

    - Excellent attention to detail

    - Reliable and able to work independently 

    - A minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience

    - Proficient in Quickbooks online

    - Associate degree required, Bachelor degree preferred

    - Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
