Development Associate

    Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate provides general support to the Alumni and Development staff. The Development Associate coordinates administrative details of the capital campaign solicitation process as well as campaign events; supports the Director of Development with administrative tasks; assists with engagement, stewardship, and fundraising events and activities; maintains the inventory, new orders, and new merchandise for the school’s online store; tracks the department budget; conducts foundation research; and supports and partners with the Database Manager, Alumni Director, Annual Fund Manager, and Associate Director of Development on various projects and events.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Office Management

    • Process and organize all Alumni & Development office invoices; support Director of Development in tracking the department budget; reconcile with budget actuals regularly
    • Provide administrative support to the Director of Development
    • Serve as office assistant: work with Technology Department and Business Office to manage printer, copier, other equipment; assist with outgoing mailings; order and manage office supplies; handle incoming and outgoing mail
    • Merchandise: Manage the school’s online store for apparel and accessories as well as in-house merchandise sales; coordinate with parent volunteers to sell merchandise at athletic events; work with vendors and colleagues on new merchandise orders; maintain merchandise inventory

    Capital Campaign

    • Enter appropriate updates in Raiser’s Edge for moves management and campaign solicitations
    • Run reports as needed on capital campaign fundraising activities
    • Assist with capital campaign cultivation, donor, stewardship, and celebration events
    • Partner with colleagues to prepare research and background information on campaign prospects
    • Prepare campaign collateral packets for each solicitation
    • Update campaign collateral as needed
    • Organize and maintain capital campaign files and pledge forms
    • Work with Director of Development and Database Manager to track all donations to the campaign and follow up with donors as needed regarding pledges
    • Conduct research on foundations for potential support

    Fundraising, Engagement Events, and Stewardship Support

    • Assist Alumni Director with alumni database updates, as well as logistics for alumni events
    • Serve as project manager for Generations Day; coordinate portions of THE event; staff other department events as needed (New Parent Orientation, Alumni Reunion, etc)
    • Other duties as assigned; some evening and weekend work required

    Qualifications

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • High energy individual who thrives in a busy office
    • High degree of integrity and dedication to the mission of Lick-Wilmerding High School
    • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
    • Experience with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising database a plus
    • Some evening/weekend work required
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills
    • A bachelor’s degree and at least two years work experience
    • Ability to establish goals and action plans and to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve goals
    • Demonstrated success in project management
    • Strong self-motivation
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
    • Computer skills sufficient to fulfill job responsibilities; experience with Blackbaud’s Rasier’s Edge software and Microsoft office a plus
