    Position:              FACILITY MANAGER

    Reports to:         DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & OPERATIONS

    The San Diego French-American School seeks a full-time Facility Manager. The Facility Manager is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the campus buildings and grounds, while improving efficiencies, reducing costs and delivering quality services.   The Facility Manager must be self-motivated, have strong initiative and organization skills, excellent work ethic, and the ability to motivate, lead and collaborate. 

    The Facility Manager is responsible for -

    • ·         Oversight of school buildings and grounds;
    • ·         Planning, organizing and coordinating maintenance and repairs on campus;
    • ·         Coordinating janitorial services to assure a high standard of cleanliness;
    • ·         Planning and implementing campus improvements, capital projects and renovations;
    • ·         Coordinating fire, security, and safety programs;
    • ·         Delivering services to support special events conducted on campus;
    • ·         Hiring, training, supervision of staff;
    • ·         Maintaining online schedules for facilities department;
    • ·         Oversight of transportation, security and traffic control.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • ·         Scheduling, organizing and planning skills are essential.
    • ·         Working knowledge of maintenance, custodial services, landscaping and athletics field care. 
    • ·         Experience in leading, directing, and supervising a variety of skilled/unskilled personnel.
    • ·         Ability to recommend solutions and achieve excellent results.
    • ·         Knowledge of effective management techniques including record keeping, reporting, budgeting, inventory control and cost, personnel and performance analyses.
    • ·         Knowledge of equipment, buildings, grounds, purchasing, punch lists, inventory control, cleaning products, etc
    • ·         Selects 3rd party maintenance, contractors, determines scope of work and manages the fulfillment of their contract obligations, including cost and quality control of their work
    • ·         Strong commitment to customer service.
    • ·         Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • ·         Ability to prioritize, have good judgement, patience and decisiveness.
    • ·         Familiarity with safety rules, regulations, and guidelines including NFPA, OSHA, ADA and EPA compliance codes.
    • ·         Technology skills to prepare reports and drawings using software.
    • ·         Must be available for on call 24 hours.
    • ·         Participates constructively in the strategic development and management of the campus (e.g. master plan, zoning compliance, utilities services, energy management)
    • ·         Maintain all facilities energy, gas and water usage to green building efficiency standers
    • ·         Assumes the duties and responsibilities of the transportation department as related to supervising and training personnel, as well as, dispatching, routing, and scheduling buses and compliance with laws and regulations. Manages overall operations of the Transportation Department.

     Education & Experience:

    • ·         Degree in Engineering, Construction or equivalent, (or) an Associate’s Degree  from a two year college or technical school
    • ·         HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical system experience and knowledge.
    • ·         Supervisory experience
