Gateway School, in beautiful Santa Cruz, CA, is a CAIS accredited, independent K-8 day school of 225 students that serves children with the intellectual curiosity and self motivation to thrive in an academically challenging environment. Our school is notable for its innovative instruction and programs, close student-teacher relationships, supportive parent community, and small classes.
Gateway School is seeking to hire a part-time substitute teacher to join our team. Preferred candidates will have a good sense of humor, flexibility, ability to collaborate with others, an ethic of continuous improvement and outstanding personal integrity.

Substitute teachers are responsible for teaching a specific grade or subject. Lesson plans will be provided. Other duties may include playground supervision and/or traffic duty.
College degree and classroom teaching experience required. Teaching credential preferred.
Substitutes need to be team players, creative, energetic, flexible and able to work with limited supervision.
The following must be on file or completed prior to first day of substitute teaching:
$20 per hour
